Faux Fish Video Now Available

Well I finally got around to posting a video of Faux Fish. It’s only been like 3-1/2 years since these were filmed. If you watch the motion of the tail in different runs you can see different amounts of movement in the tail. This is because we were changing the pressure in the tail air springs. The tail fin itself proved to be a little too flexible for this application also. Anyway, the object of the project was to mimic the swimming of a fish and I think we accomplished that. Someday I’ll get back to fine tuning this sub and see what it really can do.

This video compilation was put together from a video produced by Naval Sea Systems Command NAVSEA at the 8th International Submarine Race in Bethesda, Maryland June 2005.
